The Commission on Election (Comelec) invited only 9 out of 10 presidential candidate to visit the National Printing Office (NPO) and the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) warehouse in Cabuyao, Laguna on March 11.
Comelec Chairman Jose Melo said they did not invited Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) standard-bearer Vetallano Acosta due to reports that his party mates are about to disqualified him.
“His party mates want to disqualify him. Jay Sonza and other KBL officials are saying that he is not a serious candidate,” said Melo.
The poll body started to send out letters to presidential and vice-presidential candidates early this week to invite them to go to the NPO and the warehouse for them to observe how the printing of the ballots are printed and to check on other preparations the Comelec is engaged with in connection with the May 10 polls.
“This is by strict invitation only. All the others were invited on March 11,” he added.
The poll body chairman is hoping that the May 10, 2010 npresidential aspirants would take time to join them in seeing the facilities of the incoming elections.
Last week, members of the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee (JCOC) visited the facilities.
